Session Details

 On August 26, 2025, the Council of Representatives held its sixth session of the second legislative term, fourth legislative year, and fifth electoral session. The session was presided over by Speaker Dr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani and attended by 169 members.The session agenda included the following:

 

-Voting on the list of 93 ambassadors submitted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

-Voting on the appointment of Mr. Mateen Hassan Ali Al-Jaderji as Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities.

-Voting on the proposed first amendment to the Law on the Principles of Equating Arab and Foreign Certificates and Academic Degrees No. (20) of 2020, submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee.

 

Deputy Speaker Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah presided over part of the session. The agenda also included:

 

-Voting on the proposed second amendment to the Political Prisoners Foundation Law No. (4) of 2006, submitted by the Martyrs and Victims Committee and the Legal Committee.

-First reading of the draft law on the third amendment to the Law on Compensation for Those Affected by Military Operations, Military Errors, and Terrorist Operations No. (20) of 2009, submitted by the Martyrs and Victims Committee.

-First reading of the proposed twenty-second amendment to the Staff Law No. (25) of 1960, which was added to the agenda.
