Session Details

On (14/1/2023), the House of Representatives held its first session of the first legislative term of the second legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Muhammad Al-Halbousi, in the presence of (237) representatives, and the session included:

 

-Messrs. Ghazwan Ali Muhammad Munshid takes the oath as a substitute for the deceased representatives

-Mahmoud Shaker Al-Salami, Kazem Attia Kazem takes the oath instead of the substitute representative Riad Ghali and Talib Al-Yasari takes the oath instead of the substitute representative Milad Shahid.

 

-The House of Representatives postponed the vote on the new representatives in the standing House committees.

First re-ading of the draft law on communications and informatics submitted by the committees of transport, communications, services, reconstruction, culture, tourism, antiquities and media.

 

-Second reading of the draft law on the Fourth Amendment to the Industrial Investment Law for the Private and Mixed Sectors No. 20 of 1998 submitted by the Investment and Development Committee.

 

-The interventions of the ladies and gentlemen, the representatives, included demanding to know the purpose of changing the title of the law and the government’s vision of the law since it was referred to the House by the previous government, and demanding to gather the laws on investments in one comprehensive and unified law, and reviewing the amount of fees provided by the investment companies mentioned in the draft law, supporting the private sector and the need to provide an appropriate environment for the work of the local and foreign private sector, and the need to take the proposals of the Federation of Iraqi Industries, re-work Iraqi factories and address the problem of land ownership  Factories that the factories are located on to To advance the industrial sector.
