Session Details

  the House of Representatives held its twelfth session of the second legislative term of the first legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of First vice Speaker of the house of representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi On (21/11/2022), in the presence of (167) representatives, and the session included: 

-First reading of the draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Statute of the Hague Conference on the Private International Law, submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee. 

 -First reading of the draft confirmation law of the basic cooperation agreement between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) submitted by the Foreign Relations Committee.

 -The first reading of the draft law on cybercrime submitted by the committees of security, defense, higher education, scientific research, legal, culture, tourism, antiquities, media, human rights, services, construction, and transport communications.

The Part of the session which was chaired by the vice Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Shakhwan Abdullah 

 -The second reading of the third amendment of the draft law to Imam Azam Law No. (19) of 1997, submitted by the Endowments and Tribes Committees and Higher Education and Scientific Research. 

 -An intervention focused on the numbers of curricula in which the centrist approach is adopted and the of sectarianism and sectarian rejection and to reconsider the university’s name and the number of departments in it, in addition to including the reasons for the history of the establishment of the college for its heritage. 

  -Representative Vian Sabri read a statement on behalf of the Kurdistan blocs, in which she condemned the bombing of the Kurdistan Region by neighboring countries, calling on the House of Representatives to take an appropriate legislative position to prevent these violations, in addition to hosting the executive powers after reviewing it procedures regarding these attacks, demanding the United Nations to take a unequivocal stance towards these attacks.

-The Chairman of the House Human Rights Committee, representative Arshad Al-Salhi, announced that the committee, based on what was reported by the media regarding the occurrence of human rights violations at Muthanna Airport, made a surprise visit to the Muthanna Airport prison, in which we did not record any abnormal behavior, with recording some of the observations, a detailed report on the visit will be prepared submitted to the House of Representatives.

-Ladies and gentlemen, members of the House, discussed a number of important topics, including improving the living conditions of the retirees and providing job opportunities for the youth, in addition to improving the service conditions in the governorates of Babylon and Dhi Qar and the need to continue on implementation the laws that come in contact with the daily reality of the citizen , and handling the conditions of the remaining members of the sahwa, in addition to performance and work of a number of service department.
