The Council of Representatives held on 9/10/2012 the twenty-seventh session of the first legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the chairman of the Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 198 members.
- The Council voted in principle on a resolution to enact the proposed law of the Federation Council submitted by the legal committee.
- Voting to approve the proposed law of the first amendment for the law of the Independent Higher Commission for Human Rights No.(53) for the year 2008, submitted by the committee of human rights.
- Voting to approve the draft law on accession of the Republic of Iraq to the convention on protection and promotion of cultural expression variety submitted by the committees of foreign relations and culture and media.
- The Council voted to approve the draft law on ratification of the Arab convention on anti-organized crime across national borders submitted by the committees of foreign relations, integrity, legal and financial.
- Voting to approve the draft law on ratification of the convention on international road transport for persons and goods between the Government the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan submitted by the committees of foreign relations and service and construction.
- Voting to approve the draft law on ratification of the Arab convention on transferring of punitive and correctional institutions inmates in the framework of the implementation of criminal sentences submitted by the committees of foreign relations, legal, integrity, service and construction and financial.
- The Council voted on the draft law on ratification of the Republic of Iraq on the UN treaty on comprehensive ban of nuclear test for the year 1996, submitted by the committees of foreign relations and security and defense.
- Voting to approve the draft law on ratification of the convention on establishment of a free trade zone between the Government the Republic of Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan submitted by the committees of foreign relations and economy and investment.
- Voting to approve the draft law of the first amendment for the law of maritime agencies No.(56) for the year 1985, submitted by the committees of service and construction and legal.
- The council voted on the proposed law of the first amendment for the law of the Board of Supreme Audit No.(31) for the year 2011, submitted by the committees of integrity and legal.
- Voting on the proposed law of judicial investigation offices and judicial investigators submitted by the committees of legal and human rights and finance.
The Council of Representatives held on 13/10/2012 the twenty-eighth session of the first legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the chairman of the Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 175 members.
- The Council voted on the proposed law to cancel the article (40) of the federal budget for the year 2012, submitted by the committees of legal and finance.
- Postponing voting on the head of Accountability and Justice Commission and his deputy, and the proposed law of general amnesty submitted by the committees of legal and human rights.
- The first reading of the proposed law of Federation Council submitted by the committees of legal and regions and provinces.
- The first reading of the draft law on ratification of the friendship, partnership and cooperation convention between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Republic of Italy, submitted by the committees of foreign relations and service and construction.
- The Council voted in principle to continue to read the proposed law to organize the duration of those appointed by proxy, after finishing the first reading of it.
- The second reading of the draft law of development projects support submitted by the committees of economy and investment, legal and finance.
- The second reading of the draft law of expression freedom, gathering and peaceful demonstration submitted by the committees of legal, human rights, security and defense and culture.
- Hosting of Mr. Majeed Mohammed, the Minister of Health.
The Council of Representatives held on 15/10/2012 the twenty- ninth session of the first legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the chairman of the Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 177 members.
- The Council voted on the draft law on ratification of the convention on legal and judicial cooperation in criminal issues between the Government of Republic of Iraq and the Government of Islamic Republic of Iran, submitted by the committees of foreign relations, legal, security and defense and human rights.
- Voting on the draft law on ratification of the convention on legal and judicial cooperation in civil issues and personal status between the Government of Republic of Iraq and the Government of Islamic Republic of Iran, submitted by the committees of foreign relations, legal, security and defense and human rights.
- Voting on the draft law on ratification of the convention on the extradition of accused and sentenced persons between the Government of Republic of Iraq and the Government of Islamic Republic of Iran, submitted by the committees of foreign relations, legal, security and defense and human rights.
- Voting on the draft law on ratification of the treaty on ban, use, upgrade and transfer of cluster munitions for the year 2008, submitted by the committees of foreign relations and security and defense.
- The Council voted on the proposed law of the second amendment for the law of university service No.(23) for the year 2008, submitted by the higher education committee.
- Voting on the draft law of practicing of the nursing and midwifery occupations submitted by the health committee.
- The Council voted on the recommendations of the legal committee regarding provide the protection for judges.
