The Council of Representatives held on 5/2/2013 the tenth session of the second legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 255 members.
- The Council didn't agree to withdraw the confidence from the Minister of Youth and Sport, after 102 MPs voted for the the withdrawal of confidence out of 255 MPs.
- MP Mufeed Al Baldawi read a statement in the name of the committee of security and defense. In which he mourned the martyrdom of first lieutenant Saad Al Baldawi, the explosives expert, in a car bomb while he was trying to defuse it in Balad on the past Thursday 21 of January.
- The first reading of the draft law of rehabilitation of inmates and depositors submitted by the committees of labor and social affairs, legal, and security and defense.
- The first reading of the proposed law of the first amendment for the law of service and retirement for the interior security forces No.(18) of 2011, submitted by the committee of security and defense.
- The second reading of the draft law of animal health submitted by the committees of agriculture, water and marshes, and legal.
The Council of Representatives held on 7/2/2013 the eleventh session of the second legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 184 members.
- The women bloc in the Council of Representatives read a statement, in which they refused to be part of or a cause in loss of more lives and bloodshed, demanding in the name of mothers in peace because it's the only methodology to build Iraq and to preserve the future of young people seeking to reconstruct the country, stressing condemnation of violence in all its forms and the right of citizens to demonstrate peacefully and achieve the just demands.
- The Council voted on the draft law of the first amendment on the law of night guards No.(8) of 2000, submitted by the committee of security and defense.
- MP Mudhir Al Janabi read the report of prosecutor general about closing the prison in the headquarters of division 17 and its brigades.
- The Council hosted Mr. Muhannad Al-Saadi, Minister of Water Resources, in a general invitation to discuss the rise of water levels.
The Council of Representatives held on 23/2/2013 the twelfth session of the second legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the Speaker of Council of Representatives. The session included the following:
- Presence 223 members.
- The Council voted to refuse to return the federal financial budget to the Government to amend it.
- The Presidency of the Council decided to host Ministers of Planning, Finance and Oil in the federal government and the Minister of Oil in Kurdistan region in the Council of Representatives to discuss the budget and submit it for voting within 24 hours.
- The second reading of the proposed law to organize the duration of those appointed by proxy submitted by the legal committee.
