Session Report
The Council of Representatives held on (17/2/2026) its tenth session of the first legislative term of the first legislative year of the sixth electoral cycle, chaired by Speaker Haibat Al-Halbousi. The session included:
_ Voting on the amended bylaws concerning the permanent parliamentary committees, which reached 22 committees, including the creation of the Border Crossings and Protection of National Products Committee, in addition to amending the articles related to the mechanisms of organizing the committees and their work.
_ Voting to confirm the Iraqi Army Chief of Staff, First Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Yarallah, and to confirm the Mayor of Baghdad, Mr. Ammar Musa Kadhim, after the Council approved adding the voting item to the session agenda at a parliamentary request.
_ Voting that the upcoming sessions during Ramadan be held at nine in the evening.
The session was then adjourned.
