The Council of Representatives held on 20/11/2012 the thirty-third session of the first legislative term for the third year under chairmanship of Osama Al-Nujaifi, the chairman of the Council of Representatives. The session included the following: 

 

-  Presence 178 members.

- The Council of Representatives voted to form a committee comprising the committees of security and defense, women and human rights to investigate the arrest and torture of women.

- Voting to form an investigative committee comprising the committees of security and defense and human rights to investigate torture cases in the prisons.

- The Council voted to form a committee comprising the committees of security and defense and integrity to investigate the information that there is a case of corruption in the Russian Arms Deal.

- The Council discussed the Israeli aggression on Gaza submitted by the committees of foreign relations and human rights.

- MP Hamoudi read a statement on behalf of the foreign relations committee in which he condemned the blatant defiance of the international will and the clear violation of all human rights standards after the sinning aggression of Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, using the latest military machines in killing and destruction of infrastructure and human beings.

- MP Azhar Al-Sheikhly condemned in a statement read by her on behalf of human rights committee the Israeli brutal aggression on Gaza, calling on the international organizations to take actions to stop human rights violations and deter the Israeli enemy that violates the humanitarian norms and standards.

- The Council of Representatives voted on a resolution to support the Palestinians in Gaza included sending a parliamentary delegation headed by the chairman of the Council of Representatives and members of the Council from all blocs and committees, as well as sending a medical delegation immediately to Gaza to be familiar with the health situation, as well as calling for an urgent conference for Arab Parliaments in Baghdad and reconsider the Arab choices in this issue.

- The Council of Representatives donated by 2 billion dinars from its own budget to the Palestinian people in Gaza to buy food and medical materials.

- Voting on the proposed law to amend the law of affected compensation who lost a part of their bodies by the practices of the former regime No.(5) for the year 2009, submitted by the committee of the martyrs, victims and political prisoners.

- The Council voted on the draft law on ratification of organization of provisions of the electronic signature in the field of electronic transactions in the Arab countries submitted by the committees of economy and investment, finance and foreign relations.

- The Presidency decided to postpone the discussion of the final accounts of the federal budget and hosting of Minister of Finance and the head of the Board of Supreme Audit to the next week.

- The Council started the second reading of the federal budget draft law of Republic of Iraq for the financial year 2013, submitted by the committees of finance and economy and investment.
