- Voting on the draft law on the first amendment to the Federal Budget Law of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal years (2023, 2024, 2025) No. (13) of 2023 submitted by the Finance Committee.- Mr. Ayman Salah Hammoud is sworn in as a member of the House in place of the deceased MP Mustafa Ahmed Al-Arsan, according to the letter of the Independent Electoral High Commission.- The second reading of the proposed law on private higher education submitted by the Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee.
The House of Representatives held its third session of the first semester of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the House, on Tuesday 21/1/2025, which included the following:
-Overall voting on the proposal to amend the Personal Status Law No. 188 of 1959 submitted by the Legal Committees and Women, Family and Childhood.
-Overall voting on the draft law on the restitution of real estate to its owners covered by some decisions of the Revolutionary Command Council (dissolved) submitted by the Legal Committee.
-Overall voting on the draft law amending the second amendment to the General Amnesty Law No. 27 of 2016 submitted by the legal, security and defense, and human rights committees.
The House of Representatives holds its second session of the first legislative term of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral session under the chairmanship of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the House of Representatives, on Sunday 19/1/2025, in the presence of (167) Representatives, and the session included:
-Vote on the draft law of the National Intelligence Service, submitted by the Security and Defense Committee.
-The first reading of the draft law regulating service wages in centrally funded state departments and its follow-up submitted by the Services and Reconstruction Committee.
-Completion of the first reading of the proposed law on the first amendment to the Federal Import Allocation Control Authority Law No. (55) of 2017 submitted by the Finance Committee.
-First reading of the draft law regulating minority rights and preventing discrimination submitted by the Human Rights Committee.
The House of Representatives held its first session of the first semester of the fourth legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the House on Monday 13/1/2025, which included the following:
-Voting on the approval of the extension of the work of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission for a period of two years, starting from January 7, 2025 until January 6, 2027, based on the request submitted by the Board of the Commission.
-Voting on the proposed law on the first amendment to the Passports Law No. (32) of 2015 submitted by the Security and Defense Committee after adding it to the agenda of the session.
-First reading of the proposed law on the second amendment to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs Law No. (38) of 2013 submitted by the Labor Committee and civil society organizations
-The second reading of the draft law on the first amendment to the Federal Budget Law of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal years (2025, 2024, 2023) No. 13 of 2023.
-Second reading of the proposed law on the organization of trade unions of workers and artisanal employees in Iraq, submitted by the Labour Committee and civil society organizations
The House of Representatives holds its held its nineteenth session of the second semester of the third legislative year of the fifth electoral cycle under the chairmanship of Mr. Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, Speaker of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, 4/12/2007 in the presence of (183) Representatives and the sesion included Hosting, Prime Minister Mohamed Shya Sudani and Gentlemen, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Interior to discuss the challenges of events in Syria and their consequences for Iraq and the region.
